The meeting of the President of Poland of Lech Kaczynski and Prime Minister Donald Tusk with the President of United States Barack Obama is ended. The meeting lasted not more than half-hour.The president Lech Kaczynski informed that he had invited Barack Obama to Poland, although he wasn’t sure when the visit will materialize. – We need to remember that it is a special time for everyone. The crisis in the gigantic degree absorbs the attention of the American administration and the president Obama - the Polish President said.
Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk was glad about the convergence between Poland and U.S.A. in the matter of world negotiations which the end should follow in December 20009 in Copenhagen. Together with the acceptance of the new agreement about the reduction of the issue CO2 after the year 2012 (so called the Kyoto’s). EU believes that U.S.A. will support her efforts in the fight against the global warming.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk rated after the meeting with President Obama, that we "were several steps nearer" to the success of the negotiation. "With the large satisfaction, I took words of President Obama concerning of our cooperation with reference to agreements in Copenhagen. Poland engages herself very strongly into such shape of climate agreements, which will not be dangerous for economies based on the coal."
Tusk underlined that U.S.A., like Poland, was a country substantially dependent on coal. He said: “We have similar problems and this gives chances on the very close cooperation.
After short declarations the president and Prime Minister of Poland did not answer questions raised by the journalists and left the meeting room.
What do I think? Poland is in the same situation like the Czech Republic. The President Lech Kaczynski and Prime Minister Donald Tusk are not very fond of themselves. They are in opposite sides in the Polish Government, even they represent “right side” in the polish politics. However both of them are very seriously close to President Obama and the Government of U.S.A. Does President Obama reconcile with them or is this only “the political business”?
